Spreadshirt is young and diverse and you can feel it! Everyone is trying to be as nice as possible and to make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is very work friendly, though (at least in customer service) at times stressful but even them everyone helps each other out.
Every teamleader and superior (who matters in customer service) is awesome. They are motivating, friendly, understanding, eager to help and try very hard to help you achieve your goals. I've always felt appreciated.
You can openly talk about problems with teamleaders and you'll always be treated with respect.
Customer service is much like a family, though other departments often seem to look down on it.
There is always someone to help you out if you don't know how to solve a problem and virtually no pressure is put on new people. Everyone encourages you to ask questions and is very understanding of almost any situation. Being human is not a bad thing here.
Compared to customer service in other companies Spreadshirt offers very many diverse tasks and languages, which make this job much more appealing than it might seem from the outside. There is so much to know and understand, that if you put the work in it won't ever get boring.
Communicating with colleagues and customers is very interesting at Spreadshirt, as you might easily switch between 3 or more languages in the span of 5 minutes.
The communication is good, mostly straight to the point, always friendly but sometimes simply non-existent. This is an area where Spreadshirt can still develop quite a bit.
Most people in customer service, including the management, are female. Your gender or who you love doesn't matter here. People who go on parenting leave are congratulated and welcomed when they come back. I do wish every company was like them especially in this regard.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There are few older colleagues, but age doesn't seem to matter.
Karriere / Weiterbildung
There are many chances and examples of people who worked there way up. Positions open up all the time and it doesn't seem like people are held back.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
The salary has improved but it's certainly nothing to brag about. If you have a degree or more (most employees do) the customer service pay would seem very low to you.
What is severly lacking is natural light, the air conditioning/climate control and the tools (software).
That said you get everything you need to get your work done.
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
Supports charities(e.g. by giving employees a chance to participate in some way or by sending them shirts)) and the trash is sorted by the company who takes it away as far as I understand it.
No one forces you to work longer than your contract states you should and many people in customer service work part time. If you wish to switch from full time to part time or take a sabbatical that also doesn't seem to be a big deal.
Awesome company with a great image.
- Communication could be improved, maybe by furthering everyones understanding about who is impacted by their work. Better pay would be great and it would motivate people to stay longer with the company. A job ticket would be a big improvement.
I haven't been here very long but I go to work with a smile on my face. The free stuff is great but what makes this an awesome place to work is the people. They are diverse, open-minded and welcoming. Everyone is very helpful.
If you go to work looking sick your superior will ask if you're fit to work. When it's your birthday or you marry a colleague who likes you will bake a cake. If willing you can get to know your colleagues at many events or other occasions.
These things speak to the unique nature of this workplace. Though there are areas Spreadshirt could develop I can hardly imagine a better place to work if you want to work hard without overworking yourself and to be happy at work!
