Good if you urgently need a job (or you a manager)
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The salary was on 25th there - always. That's it.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Everything. But it's an outsourcing company - you can expect much.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
There is nothing the company can do - they exist to save money.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It's bearable - especially if you know, that you will look for another job in the next 1-2 years.
Kommunikation
Communication? What communication?
Kollegenzusammenhalt
It depends in which team you are... Most of the employees are unexperienced und low paid, which makes the work with them extremely hard. And they come and go on a monthly basis..
Work-Life-Balance
The company does not respect the employee's time. Management does not care if a task takes a day instead of an hour - because that costs the company almost nothing. Oncall rotations are especially bad - you can have up to 12+ hours a day. Maybe unacceptable in Germany, but perfectly normal in India and rest of the best shore locations (where the rest of the IT is). Management does not care either, because they know, they can not expect much from the mostly (and back to it) low paid and unexperienced personnel. Typical American outsourcing company.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I personally did not have a bad experience.. But most of managers did somehow get in their position and one can see, that that are not qualified at all, to be in those positions.
Interessante Aufgaben
After an year, you can start look for another job. Unless you would like to have a secure but low-paid job. No improvements in the infrastructure, no thrive to make the thing work better, nothing. The whole IT is a house of cards. What kind of self-respecting company would have that kind of severe outages every week. What kind of self-respecting company would accept the fact, that someone stays up whole night to manually patch servers...
But as mentioned, the employee time is not respected.
The really bad part - the whole thing is being somehow kept alive from a couple of people, who work 60-70 hours a week... What kind of manger would allow that..
Arbeitsbedingungen
Cost savings FTW! At some point it's just pathetic. But that's the business model of the company - the clients come to Sykes to save money.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
I don't think that Chuck Sykes cares about such things..
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Unless you are manager - you get enough to pay the bills. I know that, because excel sheet with salaries was accidently send to me. Salary increases - you can forget about it. The people who work there for 10+ years are suffering from Stockholm syndrome - they do not leave, because they fancy the secure job (although low paid). Social benefits - that word does not exist. You feel the real American call center working style - you get the minimum possible wage. But if you for some reason urgently need a job - it's ok.
Image
Call Center outsourcing company - how much image such a company could have to begin with??
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Nope. Does not exist. No trainings, no nothing - no money for that. If you move up, you stay on the same salary - unless you get into a management position.
