First of all: thanks for the open and honest feedback on the interview process. It helps us a lot to discover weak points and where we have to improve. Since a positive candidate experience is our #1 goal we find it very unfortunate to hear that you weren't fully satisfied with the process itself.
As for the length of the process: we usually have a 4-step-interview process which is quite common for Senior UX roles in Berlin. It is mainly due to the fact that we want to offer the chance to meet as many team members and stakeholders as possible to get a good feeling of the team and the role. In case we see a better fit in a different feature team or for a different project it can happen that we extend the process. The intention here is to make sure that the candidate is able to meet the "new" team and stakeholders as well. Since we always communicate this beforehand and ask if the candidate is interested in proceeding with the process it actually is a mutual agreement. But we will make sure to communicate this even better in the future in order to avoid misunderstandings or frustration in the end.
