It’s need a lot of structure. Admin doesn’t need a two week full time package work at the store room as a onboarding training.
Not very modern way to communicate, everything with papers and hanging rules regulations all around while employees has less time during work to read around.
Onboarding is also very bad quality, one day they give so much information and training whole day is very overwhelming. Two HR persons almost reported the same thing twice, which was very very unprofessional und waste of time.
The the document they provided could be rather just send via the onboarding email so anyone can easily check.
Feedback culture is horrible, as no one should be already received feedback from their 2nd day already with a very rude way. If the person even barely know what’s all the company culture and regulations. It should be even management failure if the person was not clearly getting all the information on their first day already regarding all the strict regulations they are offering for the store workers.
I would say zero. The plan for organising work time is very uncertain and they change it even Friday or Saturday for the next week schedule.
Nice people to work with but the high hierarchy is very visible
As I mentioned communication style is very bad. Management has barely leadership training I suppose.
Staffing and internal opportunities
The store takes an extremely long time to replace people who leave. The HR employee and Store Administration position have been vacant for more than two months, despite there being qualified people already working in the store who could have been considered.
There were also employees who had previously worked for the company, already understood its systems and spoke German, yet apparently were not even invited for an interview. It genuinely makes you wonder what qualifications they are looking for.
The HR position is now apparently becoming vacant again, with no replacement in sight. This is particularly problematic because there are already many ongoing issues and employees have no clear person to turn to.
The Visual Merchandising department has also reportedly been trying to fill two positions for months. Meanwhile, some mannequins and VM tasks have apparently not been properly maintained for months because there simply aren't enough people.
Overall
The biggest problem is not one individual policy or one manager. It is the combination of understaffing, inconsistent management decisions, lack of internal opportunities, poor communication, questionable promotion practices and increasingly restrictive treatment of employees.
The company seems to be making employees' lives increasingly difficult while simultaneously struggling to retain and replace staff.
There are many hardworking people in this store who deserve much better treatment and a more professional working environment. The potential is there, but the current management and employee policies are making the workplace increasingly frustrating and demoralising.
Staff purchases
Another recent change is that employees can now receive a discussion form if they make a staff purchase during their official working hours.
Previously, employees already couldn't make purchases on Saturdays. Now, even if your shift ends at 20:00 and the tills are still open, you are apparently not allowed to make a purchase because it is considered working time.
This is particularly frustrating because staff purchases used to take only a few minutes and were a completely normal part of working here. And despite all these restrictions, staff purchases apparently cannot be returned anyway.
Ironically, if you are a good employee on the shop floor, applying for another department such as Administration, VM or Loss Prevention can work against you. It can feel as though management would rather keep you where you are because you are more valuable to them there.
Working Sundays and night shifts
Employees who choose to work Sundays and night shifts, including shifts from 22:00–06:00. Of course, these shifts are paid accordingly, but employee appreciation is another matter.
After working difficult shifts, the food provided can be extremely inadequate. For example, I have seen situations where around eight people were expected to share approximately ten nuggets and two small fries. Considering the size of the company, providing something as simple as a few pizzas or proper meal options would hardly be unreasonable.
Produkte gewinnen an Beliebtheit
It’s nice and colleges are international
Yes
I only did 20hours per week but still super tired
We had training before started but I think after this job, I only learned how to fold my clothes
Yes and they also have lunch support which is nice
Yes
Most of the time they are helpful
I think there everyone is equal
Everyday we had meeting before working, people can share how they feel about the work or what they hope to change
It’s nice but sometimes customers are too much
It’s easy to chat with colleges because they are nice and open
Really balanced
The job itself is really boring just folding clothes and bring them to everywhere
Constantly under pressure, since every task they give you is time-limited, but that will not stop them to give you additional 2 tasks at the same time. But the most awful thing about this job is how some of the managers are making fun of you, if you cannot speak foreign languages well. And then they will roll their eyes whenever they see you at work. Basically, most of the managers (at this branch at least) are acting like in the kindergarten so working here is really a challenging job for someone who is mature and kind.
If you work full time, then there is no balance at all
Awful, so much plastic being used for packaging, completely unnecessary!! Not to mention there is so much clothing made from 100% polyester
Some of the colleagues are ok, the others are trying to gain managers' trust by snitching lol
Die Sauberkeit und Ordung.
Kommunikation. aufstiegschancen.
Keineb unterschied
Alles neuestem stand, klima ect. Alles top
Also muss man gut Finanzen planen.
Kommt darauf an welcher vorgesetzer.
Bleibt interessant.
very nice colleagues, super helpful. decent benefits. they give contracts for 40h which allows people to get their visas.
Store managers should again be more flexible with the schedules as before. so people can continue to study and live their lives. theres literally never enough people to fulfill all the tasks that the store needs. people are promoted without having the necessary trainnings while other who have them are not because they are not the right race or one supervisor doesnt like them. in general the store is handled like high school and not profesional people
Take employees complaints more seriously, especially HR before they blow up. hire people faster because at any given time there could be only 10 people for the entire store. make the evaluations more transparent and fair. be more grateful for the amount of work people are doing for minimum wage. just like employees are expected to give their days off a month in advance, the schedule should be known also 1 month in advanced
colleagues are mostly nice and helpful but new management specially the store managers are terrible and treat employees as if they were unworthy of even taking a day off.
there's only a few people who actually like the company, everyone else is just there because they couldn't find another place to work in their field or they literally just need the money. but i think if you ask anyone who has worked there, they will tell you how much they hate it.
Schedules are changed from one day to the next. they only give the shift that you will work with one week in advance but they expect that you let them know when you need a day off 1 month in advance. You only have one saturday off in the month.
Its definitely a place where you can build your career but at a big price. also there are some assistant store managers that literally only got there because they were involved with store managers. the reality is that is such a hard place to work at that within 6 months you will see 30% of the people leave.
Almost everyone starts at 15eur. in theory you could be promoted every 3 months but they always find an excuse not to promote you and its only 50cents more per hour. they pay for db ticket and around 100eur for food if you work 40h.
the have recycling initiatives but they are definitely not enough for how much the fashion industry pollutes.
The new asian store managers focus only on everything that is missing to be perfect. all this while people are barely making above minimum wage and knowing very well that in other stores the work load is much less. People dont get promoted when its fair while others do without much effort. Which of course causes tension between employees.
Older colleagues are definitely hired.
Extremely unprofessional. Most supervisors say sexual and inappropriate things to staff members. Store managers specially are rude, don't even say hello (which is basic behaviour in Uniqlo), theres a lot of preference between an eastern european supervisors and staff members from the same country. There's a culture of snitching because its known that store managers rewards those who complain about others.
there's constant issues with safety because even though is not explicitly asked it is implied that you should do unsafe things in order to finish a task faster. during winter the staff members are not given jackets to warm themselves even though the store is freezing. when you work in the morning plenty of people have accidents because people leave wheels everywhere and people fall or they cut themselves, a box falls on top of them.
Every week they come up with a new thing that you can't do. one day it might be that you cant speak your own language, the next that you cant post on social media. there's also no real feedback of your progress. People get fired out of the blue. The communication is so bad that a case of sexual harrasment ended up being everyone's problem, instead of being handled privately.
They hire auditive impaired women which is good. And theres more women than men working there.
Maybe doing till. But other than that they literally expect you to be a robot and never get tired and do everything with a smile. Often times people cant even go to the bathroom because of how intense some of the tasks are.
So verdient kununu Geld.
