Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Great atmosphere to work in, with loads of amazing company events. The frequency of events and atmosphere can probably vary from team to team, but overall there's a shared goal and passion and I feel like everybody's working towards it together.

Kommunikation

Very good level of communication from leadership, whether that is with biweekly allhands meetings, insight sessions, strategy sessions, "meet the" sessions or a weekly email on news, including joiners/birthdays/leavers.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

There's a big emphasis on keeping a positive work environment and communication between colleagues. No matter what team I've been working with, I've had positive experience and you can feel that the human aspect matters.

Work-Life-Balance

So far I've experienced no problem keeping the balance between work and private life and it's not expected to work regular overtime. Additionally there's many offers to support, including a collaboration with OpenUp (which offers individual coaching sessions, exercises, group sessions etc.), mental health offerings like the mental health week, Yoga sessions and more.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

I feel there is the right balance between gathering feedback and taking courageous decisions to try new things and going new ways. At all times employees have the chance of directing questions or feedback to leadership, which always gets addressed and heard.

Interessante Aufgaben

It's a fast changing company, which means it won't get boring and you get to try different things and work on new things.

Gleichberechtigung

While Westwing is definitely leading by example in terms of overall percentage of women in leadership and in terms of benefits facilitating equal opportunities (e.g. Westwing Wichtel), in the senior leadership team, there is still a significantly higher amount of male leaders. Overall still outperforming most other employees, also in terms of reintegrating maternity leavers.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

The average age of Westwing employees is definitely below market average, which probably also is due to the fact that the company is rather young itself and the environment is very fast paced with constant changes. I personally haven't experienced any discrimination based on age though.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Very modern and stylish office, with many different meeting rooms, a library, spaces with couches etc. facilitating collaboration. I've experienced several occasions of colleagues having difficulties with IT equipment.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

There's been lot of focus and measures for improvement, especially on sustainability, including sustainability reports, insight sessions, and an emphasis on growing those teams.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salary always paid on time and nice benefits, like subsidized gym memberships, subsidized Deutschlandticket, employee discount, ... The salary is slightly below market standard.

Probably also depends on the different areas and teams, but overall there's a lot of positive feedback and there's many people rejoining Westwing after leaving, which speaks for itself. I personally also recommend working at Westwing to friends.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

You get a good level of responsibility very early on and you get the chance to really have an impact. There's loads of different tools for delivering and receiving feedback, there's performance review cycles happening twice per year and there's the opportunity to develop internally. There's been a significant number of promotions and movement between teams since I've started at Westwing.
