Founded in 2017 by Benedikt and Claudia, Xentral has developed from an Augsburg based startup to a company with an international team of around 230 Xentraleers. All together we are shaping the world of ERP by building a lean and scalable software that simplifies your business processes.
Our Story
When our founders, who previously founded the Embedded Project GmbH, a microcontroller business, struggled to find an ERP system that met their needs, they took a unique approach. Rather than relying on existing solutions, they decided to develop their own. This decision led to the creation of Xentral, an ERP software built on open-source technologies. Designed initially for internal use, the system was intended to be adaptable, allowing for easy expansion as the business evolved.
Over time, as customers took notice of the software, demand grew. The founders, recognizing the potential, began tailoring the system to meet the needs of their clients. What started as a personal solution quickly gained traction, and the demand for the software soon outpaced that for their original hardware products.
In 2017, the decision was made to pivot the business model, and the hardware division was shut down in favor of focusing entirely on the ERP software. This strategic shift proved successful, as Xentral grew into a multimillion-dollar company. It is now backed by prominent investors, including Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global, and Meritech Capital.
Xentral is a lean ERP cloud software that helps small and medium-sized enterprises automate and simplify their day-to-day operations. The easy-to-use business software consolidates all orders, inventory, payments and shipping processes in one place: creating more time, higher sales and stronger customer satisfaction. honestly i loved the onboarding phase, it was very well organized, you get all your questions asked, even those u didn't know about. it was definitely the best onboarding to a new company i have ever had.

Managers of managers culture. Instead of real work expect only meetings from Product/Srum and then can ask why are we not delivering work and again spend more hours in Retrospective meeting to find why we didnt deliver work :)). I ...
No strategy, constant changes of direction. The founders bring in VPs but then do not let them do their work which results in VPs leaving... Or they fire them because they blame them for their decisions. Within one year 5 VPs left or were kicked out. Now there is only consultants left in the leadership who have never worked in Saas, nor in Ecommerce or ERP before.
To work for this management is so unpleasant and unsatisfying that only shareholders ...

Besseres Zeitmanagement bei Meetings: Fünf Meetings pro Tag sind zu viel und behindern die Produktivität. Eine Reduzierung der Meetings auf das Notwendigste würde mehr Raum für konzentriertes Arbeiten schaffen.
Förderung des Teamzusammenhalts: Es sollte mehr Wert auf einen positiven Kollegenzusammenhalt gelegt werden. Team-Building-Maßnahmen und klarere Strukturen zur Konfliktlösung könnten das Arbeitsklima deutlich verbessern.

Depends. There are regular meetings explaining company results and new developments which is a good thing. At the same time leavers were never communicated beforehand so you always got surprised by leaving messages on the last day of employment. In some cases this did not allow for proper handovers.
Management communicates financial figures very openly, which is great. The reasons behind decisions are not always communicated well enough. Cross-departmental communication is often extremely bad and chaotic, where departments are not aligned.
Theres a weekly meeting for transparency. This meeting is also used for accusatory speeches of the CEO, where he calls the real obstacles and problems that employees face in their daily work "excuses" that he will no longer accept.
Die Gründer sprechen schlechtes Englisch - daher bleibt Xentral deutsch und wird nicht international. Die Kommunikation in Englisch ist echt verwirrend.

As everywhere: there's so much more that could be done. Xentral listened to the demands for more people development measures and implemented a learning tool. There's a leadership training, training for hiring managers and a freshly implemented mentoring tool.
Every role is also sorted into a competency model with career options and feedback cycles.
