Field Applications Specialist
As a Field Applications Specialist, you will serve as the primary scientific and technical representative for Roche systems within customer laboratories in the Core Lab space. You will provide on-site support, including application implementation, operator training, and troubleshooting for diagnostic instrumentation and assays throughout the product life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and create value.
- Perform installations of diagnostic instruments, software, and reagent applications, validating system performance against manufacturer specifications.
- Deliver comprehensive on-site training to laboratory personnel regarding system use, maintenance, workflow, quality control, and data interpretation.
- Act as the primary resource for resolving complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide scientific expertise to laboratory and medical professionals to optimize workflows and interpret results.
- Serve as a customer liaison, relaying product performance feedback to internal support and commercial teams.
- Partner with sales teams during pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations and technical consultations.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and customer interactions using the company CRM system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or IT in a clinical lab environment.
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in project and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff while working independently as a field-based contributor.
- Preferred: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Scientist (ASCP/AMT) and experience with clinical chemistry and immunoassay.
