The Global Alliance Director (GAD) will manage a portfolio of China-based alliances within the Corporate Business Development team. This role involves acting as a key facilitator between Roche's global functions and the Chinese biotech and VC ecosystem to drive innovation and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of China-based alliances, ensuring trust-based relationships and effective governance.
• Collaborate with global GADs in Basel and San Francisco to provide local context and support for cross-border partnerships.
• Serve as a center of expertise for the China market, sharing insights on regulatory and business practices.
• Build and sustain high-value relationships within the Chinese biotech and VC ecosystems.
• Lead negotiations for contractual amendments and represent Corporate Business Development in public forums.
• Brief senior management on alliance strategies and status.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in business, finance, or a science-related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on the China ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, financial disciplines, and contractual management.
• Proven track record in project management, consensus building, and conflict resolution within matrix environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
• Strategic thinker with executive presence and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects.
