this company spoiled my CV. i wish i could turn back the time
the worst ever experience so far. congratulations to you Emma, for winning in this nomination.
reasons: lies, no strategy, no leadership, no career opportunities based professional skills. Moreover, they can change your role from the very beginning and ask you to do absolutely another role or tell you to terminate the contract in probation period if you refuse to do another role. They call it "we are Emma, start up and you have to be flexible". RESPECT PEOPLE THAT YOU HIRED AND BE HONEST WITH THEM!
only if you snitch/inform your manager then you will be treated better. i doubt i will find something worse and that inspires me for new applications.
dismiss management!!!! hire true leaders that are professionals with clear tasks, vision. to make this shorter: JUST FOLLOW YOUR DNA ideology!
don´t change the roles from the very beginning
do the proper onboarding
"regular" peers are mostly good people. But the environment is absolutely even not close to how they claim EMMAs DNA. People are depressed and demotivated from the very first days because of toxic and unprofessional management. there is a tension because of no "flat hierarchy" and behaviour that management approves.
Emma positions itself as modern company with positive ideology (EMMA DNA). that is why i applied. how naive was i
not that much vacation days Emma offers. but still not 20 :)
there is a variety of courses, language classes.
it is impossible to get a raise based on honesty and performance. in general salaries are not that high. for the first job OK.
Be aware that some of your peers will snitch and your manager will know your every single step, your word that you say, especially about them.
Luckily, there are a lot of good people (not in management). Some a look friendly and smiling, but they could snitch. Trust only to reliable colleagues. Manager supports informers.
there are only a few mature colleagues. Management disrespects and is rude regardless the age.
Under the "high kununu score" extremely high fluctuation of people is hidden. Because EMMA pushes to write reviews at early stages and most of the community hired - students, that are happy to be in fancy office. Unfortunately, i also checked the 4,2 score, but i clarified everything during the 1 week.
Another factor that you depend heavily on your manager with mindset "shup up and do what say".
office is great! a plenty of perks
1. Be ready that management can be literally RUDE to you, delegating unclear tasks and making you feel stupid.
3. Emma adores useless online-meetings.
i didn´t notice any issues with that.
totally not about this company. forget about this! again, moto is "shut up and do what i say"
No one really care if you have it.
Dont bother to do things, just join meetings and repeat other people to get credits. Then you're good.
They ready to stab you for their own benefit.
They aren't exist.
Always framing as communication skills to blame people while the leaders are actually the worst
sometimes
Nichts.
There not enough word for describing these feelings.
Fire all your executives and make new executives be fair on employees
There is no room for people to interact with others because everyone is looking for when they are going to get fired.
no single person who will go into office do like emma, except executives
first of all this working atmosphere is a joke, no single person likes to work at emma. they are just keeping this job until they find another, so there is no work, just kindergarden games out there
average working period is 6 months in that company, so think how is possible to make a career there.
If they give you a high salary, they will say, your salary is too high sso you are fired.
:D they are trashing lots of mattresses everyday instead of giving them away to the people in need
Mostly, (not all) but 99% of them only think about themselves.
No way, there is no.
"Who is next". That was the sentence made by my former head of R&D after one of our colleagues got fired. he was looking into my eyes, and several weeks later I was next because of "no reason"
They will load every dirty stuff on you to not to handle and will make their evaluations to your "colleagues"
No clear communication because noone knows what are they doing. managers are there only for showing up around and threatening people with their jobs.
No No No, if you are a pretty woman, that you are very very equal, or a local of Frankfurt yes you are equal, but there is a huge racism under the diverse fancy lights. so if you are a foreigner and looking for a job, simply skip this company.
Nothing, simply nothing. I tell you your teamleads will know nothing, they will not direct you, they will not ask to you, they don´t know how to evaluate you, 2 years working at emma means and old person at emma so he/she becomes team lead until got fired in 1-2 years
Keine Frauen, POC,... in Führungspositionen. Zum größtenteil deutsche Männer in Führungspositionen.
Anfangs sehr abwechslungreich weil starke Unterbesetzung.
You learn. If you don’t give up and decide to take the messy as an opportunity to improve yourself you can enjoy. Make sure you leave before you think that bubble is the reality outside.
There is no HR leader. Only very junior managers (even the team leaders) capable of following owner’s decision based exclusively on his gut feelings.
You use your on mobile to work.
Recently owner encouraged workers to go for a trip with some colleagues to discuss company challenges. But you have to pay by yourself.
No recognition to good work. There is always a culture of diminishing to better negotiate your salary. You see it clear in the salary review process.
Transparency in salary and home office conditions.
Hire a proper HR leader. Someone that can lead a team.
Do not play with employees dependent condition. Most of them are immigrants, stop behaving as you don’t see the recurrent problems they go through.
Be respectful to your employees. Work less on showing off how nice the company is and more on making it a great place to work.
Military top down with fluffy words about take ownership.
Take ownership is used to make people ashamed of something they are not responsible for. But of course, someone will be publicly exposed.
Limited because it’s small and they will that all energy until the moment you decide that there is nothing more there for you.
People collaboration is the best of it.
Do what owners want. Exactly. At least transparent when owners say openly that if you want to work from 9 to 6 this is not the company for you. They will never pay you for extra hour.
You learn
there is no canteen, no possibility to buy something to eat. you have to walk into frankfurt and pay at least 10 euro for a meal.
there are no benefits for employees like a job bike, enough vacation and flexibility, no retirement plan, they suck the young people dry until they can't take it anymore, everything is chaotic, there is no security, emma only thinks about the benefits for the company but not about how her employees are doing.
they bring 90% of the employees from abroad to germany. this way they bind the employees to the company because they are only allowed to stay in germany with the work permit. so changing jobs also means moving out of germany again.
they lie to you by promising to keep offering remote. suddenly they change direction and everyone is to come back to the office. extremely unfair and not appropriate to the new world of work. no trust
Emma promised many employees during the pandemic to keep flexible home office arrangements. These were suddenly changed with the statement that "Tesla would do it exactly the same way".
Then please pay like Tesla!
Additionally, no overtime can be celebrated off. Overtime is self-explanatory and almost expected.
they are looking for young people without experience because they do not demand high salaries
emma offers its employees no bonuses, no christmas or vacation pay, no job bike, no train ticket, etc.
emma prefers to have all employees drive to the office every day instead of protecting the environment and continuing to offer home offices. emma does nothing for environmental friendliness. neither for products nor for employees.
They just hire young people and keep them until they are burnt out.
There are no fixed workstations. you have to look for a new place every day. The equipment is cheap (uncomfortable chairs, bad monitors etc).
You have to wait years for a company phone, if you get one at all
Men earn better here
Invest in your employees to decrease employee turnover instead of hiring non stop new people that mostly don‘t stay longer than a year
Very competitive, almost everyone is facing an immense workload, chaos is being called agility
Image overall still quite good but doesn‘t match the reality
Unpaid overtime on a regular basis is almost expected
performance is evaluated twice a year which theoretically allows you to develop quickly - but in reality arbitrary decisions are the order of the day
Starting salary rather low, 25 vacation days, no real additional benefits
Hasn’t been a big focus area so far but first steps in this direction are slowly taken -> new sustainability team is focusing on that
As everyone is quite stressed many teams don‘t really stick together and most people rather fight for themselves
Only very few older employees
Many inexperienced people in leading positions, almost no guidance provided, intransparent communication within team and unclear on what basis decisions (also regarding personal development) are made
nice office that is centrally located, but it can get quite loud in the open space office, too few meeting rooms
Intransparent, processes change almost every week and even the teams are restructured regularly without being communicated adequately
Lots of responsibility + freedom from beginning on, opportunity to do team swaps or rotations to one of the other offices
So verdient kununu Geld.
