By combining cutting-edge research capabilities with deep expertise across multiple therapeutic areas, Evotec partners with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic organizations worldwide to accelerate the development of innovative medicines for patients.

As SVP Head of OMICs, you will provide strategic, scientific, and operational leadership for Evotec's OMICs organization, encompassing Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Multi-Omics Imaging capabilities. Reporting into the Drug Discovery Platform (DDP) leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of Evotec's OMICs strategy, enabling innovative drug discovery programs and biomarker development across the organization and for external partners.

This leadership position can be based in Toulouse, France, Hamburg, Germany, or at another major Evotec location in Europe, depending on the successful candidate's profile and business needs. Regular international travel and close collaboration with Evotec's global scientific teams are expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all OMICs data‑generation departments, including Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Multi‑Omics Imaging
  • Define, drive, and make decisions on the strategic application of OMICs technologies in drug discovery and biomarker development
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new OMICs methodologies and platforms to maintain scientific and technological leadership
  • Ensure strong alignment and collaboration with key partner functions, including Bioinformatics & AI/ML, Therapeutic Areas, and Translational Biomarkers
  • Own budget planning for the OMICs sub‑segment and be accountable for its profit & loss performance
  • Partner with the Commercial organization to shape the strategy for externalization and commercialization of OMICs platforms
  • Represent Evotec’s OMICs capabilities in client meetings, scientific congresses, and strategic external engagements
  • Contribute to the overall scientific and business strategy as a member of the Drug Discovery Platform (DDP) leadership team

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • More than 20 years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical R&D
  • Significant experience leading large scientific teams (20+ employees), ideally across multiple OMICs domains
  • Demonstrated leadership excellence with experience managing large, diverse, international scientific teams
  • Deep expertise in proteomics and transcriptomics, with a strong track record applying OMICs technologies to drug discovery
  • Strong understanding of multi‑omics integration and biomarker discovery approaches
  • Solid knowledge of profit & loss management and operational performance metrics
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal functions and with external partners
  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality results reliably, independently, and on time
  • Strong team orientation and ability to foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture
