Junior Financial Crimes Investigator

Deine Aufgaben

• Review dispositions from front-line agents of potential bad actors and verify accuracy of previous research
• Conduct risk evaluations of escalated cases and close or escalate further to Compliance Officers depending on risk relevancy
• Get trained on and utilize global legal and cybersecurity platforms to supplement user identification checks and additional debit/credit card fraud/red flags
• Clearly define narrative and decision rationale, highlighting red flags identified during investigation
• Carry out investigative/intelligence research of individuals, entities, and/or events related to current or prospective customers through public records, open source intelligence (OSINT), vendor systems, or other research tools
• Thoroughly analyze investigative and intelligence information about customer identification, business operations, know your customer ('KYC') information, and transaction history
• Identify gaps in our current defenses during your investigations and help draft recommendations to update our policies
• Identify trends in recurring fraud violations and inquiries, and work closely with teammates and cross-functional partners to enhance internal procedures and training materials
• Develop knowledge of criminal methods and AML typologies and use that knowledge to analyze transaction data to identify unusual activity
• Participate in ad hoc projects and enhanced reviews, including supporting inquiries from regulators and compliance-related matters
• Use data visualization tools to track fraud trends, highlight platform risks, and support financial crime investigations.

Dein Profil

• You are a digital sleuth. You love connecting the dots, digging into public records, and figuring outhowsomeone bypassed a system
• You are comfortable using advanced data tools and want to learn how to build visual threat maps
• Fluency in English (B2)- Required
• 1+ year of experience with financial law enforcement, financial fraud, AML compliance, and financial crimes
• Expertise surrounding anti-money laundering (AML), financial crimes, sanctions screening, and KYC (know your customer)
• Flexible schedule
• Works well under pressure and within time/budget constraints
• Investigative skills and an analytical mindset, including proven problem-solving ability
• Desirable experience writing clear, concise case notes or narrative reports (you know how to explain 'the why' behind a decision)
