Specialist Innovation and Partnerships EMEA
What you’ll do:
- Create collaborative initiatives with Eaton divisions, technology organizations and external research partners to develop government funded programs to accelerate growth, influence new technologies and products, disrupt markets and create competitive advantages. This includes external actions ranging from technical experts at academia to funding agencies such as EU, German and UK agencies and ministries.
- Identify potential funding sources. Create and execute pursuit strategies, including working with technical, legal and finance teams to draft and win proposals.
- Develop extensive knowledge of Eaton businesses, strategies, customers and markets. Understand technology and product roadmaps, investment priorities, potential disruptions, technological competitive landscapes. Be able to translate this information into consideration of future technologies and business opportunities.
- Uncover innovative new ideas that have the potential to create significant organic growth for Eaton. Collaborate with Eaton team members in corporate research and divisions, but also understand emerging technologies from world-class researchers to uncover ideas that might be of interest to Eaton.
- Build and leverage networks of relationships and engage with key external decision-makers to understand and anticipate future funding strategies and to enhance the competitiveness of government R&D proposals and projects.
Qualifications:
- MBA or MS or PhD in a technical field
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, with verifiable record of winning projects, agency and contacts .
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of government functions, processes, organizational structures, funding mechanisms: EU funding (Horizon Europe, Clean Aviation, European Defence Fund), German national funding (BMWE, LuFo, Defense), additioan experience in UK funding is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of value creation through government R&D programs, with the ability to assess and communicate the value and risks of government R&D proposals.
- Strong network and experience in collaboration with funding agencies, as well as leading academia and research and technology organizations in relevant areas.
- Solid technical expertise in areas relevant to Eaton Aerospace (commercial and defense) and Electrical Sector. Of specific interest is expertise in power electronics and electrical energy systems.
- Analytical, strategic, proactive, goal-directed thinking and acting. Must be able to translate complex technology into effective, targeted messages. This includes outstanding presentation and communication skills across multiple disciplines and hierarchies.
- Ability to build and leverage internal and external networks.
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
