The few ex-colleagues which made it fun to work that are still left. We head really great, smooth, fun teams until it got re-shuffled a couple of times to end up in the old setup without addressing the underlying issues. Making it easy for skilled people to say goodbye …

Don’t taking into account attitude for hiring. Relying on the same set of people for new hires and decisions.

Scaring away all people with skills, ambition and that don’t say “yes” to everything.

If “Leaders” blame (ex) employees that empowered the company to the state it’s now or saved whole business critical areas with their contributions.

Listen to the many Feedback channels. Collect peer review in
probation to avoid more people quitting because of the same people and issues.
Don’t find excuses for facts confirmed multiple times. Don’t listen to people with a lack of insights and/or interest.

I like the atmosphere at reev a lot, from the beginning everyone was very open and welcoming and I love being in the office. Also many team events supporting this atmosphere - these have been a little less recently, but I'm happy that more is happening here again now!

Work-Life-Balance

It's a start up so, even if work-life-balance is usually balanced and absolutely okay for me, work load can be a lot sometimes. But the work is always seen and working hours can be organised flexibly. There is also a platform for mental health with coaching and learning opportunities we can use that also help a lot in that area.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

We have a career progression framework including 360° feedback, growth plans and learning opportunities; also internal workshops to learn together and from each other are organised on a regular basis.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salary is fair in my opinion and also many benefits are offered.

One of the greatest things working at reev is the great team working with - not only within my own team but also cross-team.

I never had an issue working with my supervisor, we work eye-to-eye, I can give constructive feedback and I feel very appreciated in my role and my work.

The office is great, large and bright space, good equipment, nice meeting rooms.

Communication is usually open and transparent from Management to Team Leads to team - can still be improved and is being improved constantly; that's why 4 stars. But I see a lot already happening here and I can always give constructive feedback (also directly to Management), which I really appreciate a lot.

Tasks are very interesting and varied with a lot of creative freedom, projects can be taken on and driven forward and one is constantly learning.

The atmosphere at reev is the best part of the job. Many really nice people who are giving their best.

The industry as a whole has a very good reputation and we are a well known and respected player in the market.

Work-Life-Balance

Work load is manageable for most of us and there is a lot of flexibility regarding working hours. Workation is also offered.

There is a lot of room to grow within the company. A career framework with growth plans for every employee was established recently.

We are still a young company and probably cannot compete with large, established corporates. However, compensation is fair and adjusted regularly.

- Not many corporate benefits
- A company that promotes eco-mobility, but there's no option to park our bikes on the building or backyard.
- Office is too big for the number of employees, feels like a ghost office some days.
- Less holidays than average in Germany + between Xmas and NYE you must take the week off, which leaves you with even less days for vacation.

No transparency. Only in some teams and some topics.

Get along with C-level and you'll be promoted. Performance and how long you've been working with the company plays no role on career path.

Interessante Aufgaben

We used to have surveys which gave the chance to leave internal feedback at least. Not much of the feedback has been addressed in the past however.

Not focusing on delivering value & performance .

We don’t promote high performance, but accepting slacking off and low performance.

Poor engineering quality for a software company

Put more focus on creating a good product instead of trying to maximize sales. Hire experienced leaders in the tech departments to establish an actual engineering culture. Don't treat your developers like pawns in a chess game.

Passion (at least in the development team) has declined constantly over the whole time I have been here. In general, the past year has been dominated by struggles, adding uncertainty and stress. The current goals and orientation of the company don't seem clear to most people outside of management.

Pressure on development teams isn't very high, working times are quite flexible allowing people to work at a pace that works for them.

There is little engineering culture due to a lack of competent management. Lots of relatively inexperienced tech lead and managers. There are a few exceptionally skilled people in the dev team, however they can only push so much change, and a lot of the development team isn't very engaged, few people speak in all-hands meeting and it's always the same few that bring up suggestions and are trying to drive change

reev boasts transparency as one of its values, and in certain areas, this is lived quite well. However, it often requires team members to proactively ask for information (which they might not even know exists, see the problem?).
A lot of decisions regarding team structure (of which there have been a lot in recent months, particularly in the product/dev area) feel rushed, not thought to the end and not communicated properly.

salary seems below industry average, no transparent ranges for positions. Talk about salary is discouraged. From discussions with others it became clear to me that salary raises are also quite random, the better networked and more outspoken ones seem to get raises, while others have worked here for years with the salary never being touched.
The amount of vacation days is below industry standard, and there is a mandatory vacation between Christmas and New Year's, further reducing the amount of PTO available for free use. No options for unpaid vacations either.
Quite a few non-cash benefits such as JobRad, Deutschlandticket, gym membership as well as company pension plan available

Interessante Aufgaben

Some of the dev teams have quite interesting topics that go beyond the usual CRUD operations, but this is largely team dependent

It was a genuinely effective process, with clear communication about the company's expectations and a great demonstration of the values they uphold.
