The people I had the opportunity to work with at Sundaz were fantastic. Colleagues were easy-going, supportive and made the workplace enjoyable
Poor Management Practices: Unfortunately, the company's management leaves much to be desired. There is a pervasive feeling that employees are seen as expendable resources rather than valued team members. During my time in the department, I witnessed three colleagues being terminated abruptly, reflecting a lack of foresight in the hiring process. The practice of terminating employees on the last day of their probation period adds unnecessary stress and creates a toxic atmosphere.
Limited Career Growth Opportunities: Another significant drawback is the lack of promotion opportunities. Employees are left stagnant in their roles for a minimum of two years, which can be demotivating and lead to a sense of stagnation.
While Sunday boasts a positive work environment in terms of its people, the management's disregard for employee well-being and career development casts a shadow over the overall experience. Addressing these issues would undoubtedly improve the company's reputation and employee satisfaction.
Colleagues were easy-going, supportive, and made the workplace enjoyable.
Colleagues are great! Management awful!
I asked for feedback but never received any
You get to work on everything but what you were hired for because
In meiner Abteilung definitiv vorhanden. Umgang ist vorbildlich.
In meiner Abteilung sehr gut.
Company has a tight knit feel. During onboarding HR, dept head (c-level), and direct manager all checked in on me as well as colleagues from other teams. Openness to sharing opinions and ideas with leadership and influencing decisions. Culture really does reflect a wellness company's as shown by the interests of the employees, perks, and work life balance. I do not feel micromanaged at all.
No clear personal development budget for upskilling, performance evaluation is still being figured out and with that clear paths for growth within your team/role. Salary was slightly beneath my expectations but is tolerable.
Interview structure was much more reasonable than many other companies I spoke with (fair amount of interviews, evaluating skills and interest in the company, behavioral questions, meet the team, etc), however, being asked questions such as "Why us?" and then answering that being asked as a follow up "but why specifically did you want to work for a company in the wellness space focused on supplements?" felt pretty intense. I appreciate companies which are invested in their employees' buy in to the vision and mission, but it is perhaps worth reconsidering to assume that all of the applicants are going to be deeply connected to vitamins and supplements (although I am, I don't feel this has much bearing on my ability to do my job well or care about my company). You may lose really great candidates who want to work in wellness but don't use your products the same way your customers do.
Company level performance numbers like revenue or margins are not openly shared, only lower level metrics like instagram followers acquired, AOV, and top products make it to our all hands meetings. It is certainly unusual.
Minor lighting issues in the office which took some time to be resolved, great otherwise
Benefits, company parties, flat hierarchy as the leadership is well approachable and down to earth, a lot changed in the last year to the positive. If it wasn’t for a moving towns, I wouldn’t have left. The people are really nice and love the purpose of what they do, you can really tell
Communications could improve a bit but I already noticed changes so they seem to know that improving it is important and giving the tools to do so
klare, offene, ehrliche Kommunikation
Fair - der Rest ist geheim
Toleranz pur!
Pionierphasen sind immer eine spannende Phase
Good products, some interesting projects, location.
Management and culture
Take care of your employees as you pretend you do on your social channels. Collect feedback regularly from them, try to understand what is working and what isn't and try to implement it. Also stop forcing people to come to the office every day, that doesn't help them perform better, it just demotivates them.
Depending on the department, the atmosphere can be sometimes more manageable than in others.
Company tried to sell their image as being a wonderful place to work at but current employees are being told to write good reviews in order to push down the real ones. During my time there, there was a lot of complaints from most departments.
They promote hybrid working but there is a lot of pressure to come to the office. At times, we were forced to come in under pretext that we weren't hitting the financial goals although the company is highly profitable. Very old school management and desire to control their employees.
There is a culture of having to overwork or overachieve in order to prove yourself to be worthy of a promotion or a raise.
Salaries are a bit lower than market average as they put all the money in the C levels.
One of the only positives about the company is the colleagues.
Micro-management, focussed on hyper-growth and profit to the detriment of the employees' well-being, sometimes clueless about the direction to give the company, priorities could change on a whim.
Good tech, discount on the products, some nice events and kitchen has teas from the shop. Office is rather dark and has no real space for employees to have lunch or to relax.
The people working at Sunday are just amazing!
More flexibility regarding Home Office and Remote Working can improve work-lofe balance a lot
The company is still growing and it is necessary a clearer development path and more transparency regarding it
My team lead was a very open ans conscious person
Downstream communication from Management can be improved
Keep in mind that it's not just about the business but about the employees. Without them, Sunday wouldn't be where they are now.
The focus is now very much on expansion and turnover and profit. Accordingly, the employees are exhausted and unmotivated. But instead of giving them a certain amount of freedom, such as home office, this is being cut until the figures are reached. Because you cannot come after 9 a.m. and leave before 6 p.m.. You are under a lot of observation. The "dream team" is slowly falling apart.
There are other things you could list, but I'd rather skip it
The external image is great and a lot is being done to ensure that the dream team is exemplified. As soon as you work there, you quickly notice that it is not quite as it is portrayed.
When I was there, it was a given that in the end it became more and more difficult to plan one's own time. It is best to come from 08:00 a.m. until 19:00 p.m.
Yes, there is. Look it up on google.
Seriously there are no further training opportunities, if you want it you have to manage it financially independently, why should you further train the employee in his specialist knowledge? Find the mistake....
You get a raise if you perform above average or if you announce on your own that it's not enough and you're looking for a new job. Standard social benefits which is common in every company
It depends on the team. There are teams that welcome you or you are in a team where you are not welcomed. You realise that there is no team spirit across the other teams, that everyone is in it for themselves. Sure, you meet at the company events, but it doesn't go beyond superficial small talk, and the next morning you're back at work.
Have not noticed anything untoward
In my case, my manager was both professionally and personally unacceptable. Professionally: they couldn't answer simple technical questions clearly without appearing insecure and asking for an answer from outside. they took topics that were developed autonomously for their own benefit instead of giving praise to the respective team members, the main thing being that they looked good in front of the C-management. I expect my manager to be able to deal with criticism and not take it personally and to show empathy instead of bossing and mismanaging you so that you quit on your own and get congratulations for that.
It's ok. IT equipment is good and the office is well located. unfortunately the premises are dark and there is no place where you can have lunch in peace without the CEO watching you from his glass door or eating in peace as there is no kind of staff room. There isn't enough water because the water filter isn't up to the task of letting out enough water, which makes it uncomfortable in the summer. The cleanliness of the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired, despite the dishwasher, the dishes are not clean. You should consider buying new ones.
It is ensured among the teams. From management to staff there is hardly any clear and transparent information. You might hear something here or there, but there is no clear flow of information, because it feels like it changes every day and you sometimes get the feeling that the management is not in agreement.
Is given and is worked on
At the beginning there are exciting tasks that you have to "clean up". After a while it becomes routine and you become numb.
So verdient kununu Geld.
