The quarterly team events and the yearly summer party!
I believe same amount of paid vacation days should be granted throughout all local offices
I can speak for Munich and Malaga offices where the atmosphere is really nice
There is a lot of flexibility at Holidu. 10 days of unpaid vacations can be taken on top of the 23 paid vacation days and 2 study days, there is also the possibility to work 90% having 2 Fridays per month of.
Each employee gets quarterly feedbacks and a yearly development talk + a fair annnual review process, so yes, there is growing potential.
Many benefits for employees!
Salaries could be slightly higher
the best part of Holidu is definitely the people. It all starts with HR finding the best candidates living up by the company's values.
Of course, there is pressure and we need to deliver results and work on projects, but you are not treated like a number. At Holidu you are treated as a person!
I really appreciate the open-minded, international work environment and the fact that you can really have an impact with the work you do.
If you're looking for a "traditional" company with established structures, processes, hierarchies, and a monotonous job, this is not your place :-)
As the company has been growing a lot, I hope they will be able to keep up the spirit and the positive work environment. Clearer processes and structures could help here and there. On the other hand, I feel that this is normal for scale-ups like Holidu and it also comes with certain benefits like being adaptive and acting fast.
Great, diverse team, flat hierarchies with very approachable leadership team, a lot of opportunities to grow and take over responsibility from the beginning in a fast-paced environment.
We position and present ourselves as a fast-growing and fun company to work for, with great emphasis on our values.
Like other scale-ups, we often operate with limited team and time resources, so I wouldn't say that I ever have too little to do. Still, there is encouragement and different initiatives from the company to foster work-life balance and increase awareness about mental health etc. Employees can also choose to work 90% and take additional unpaid vacation days.
Besides structured and transparent career paths, every employee also has a development budget and the opportunity to have development talks with their managers.
I feel like salaries are fair and meet the market standard.
Since I joined, sustainability efforts have increased year over year to create more awareness within the teams and customers, offset emissions, ...
Support campaigns for different occasions are regularly organized by employees, office management or founders.
I truly enjoy going to the office as all my colleagues are very friendly, support each other a lot and visibly enjoy spending time with each other across levels and teams/departments. "We win as a team" is one of the company values and it is truly lived.
Since it is quite a young company, there are not too many older colleagues but the ones I know are fully integrated into the team.
Conversations are held at eye level and with respect, ideas are considered from anyone in the company and context is shared continuously to enable individuals to excel at their job.
Nice office environment, hybrid working model. IT support is always available to help out when needed.
Communication is very transparent. There is a bi-weekly meeting the whole company participates in, where updates, numbers etc. are presented and questions from employees are addressed. The founders and teams also share updates, kudos and achievements regularly on Slack. When Slack noise became too high in a department recently, actions were taken to bundle information and updates better in a different format.
I have never witnessed or heard of a case of discrimination! There have been different initiatives regarding diversity and inclusion in the company lately, and the founders also position themselves very openly against discrimination.
Due to the constant growth of the company, no week or quarter feels like another, which is why there are always many interesting and also challenging projects to work on. I really feel like I can have an impact with my work.
Some cool people that are great to work with.
Generally, the company culture is declining and has been severely hit this year. Maybe it'll manage to improve over the next few months, but if not, I'll need to explore my options.
Try more to live by your values and show more solidarity towards your employees - all of them. Or adjust your expectations.
Was great when I first started, but has seriously declined this year. I don't trust management anymore after everything that has happened.
Not so brilliant anymore, as far as I can tell.
Great place for workaholics who have no other time-consuming interests or commitments outside of work (family, friends, hobbies, children...). There are some internal measures to try promote work-life balance, but these are routinely ridiculed by people working late nights and weekends and even bragging about it. Some of these people have leadership roles (EMs and such) and should know better about what kind of example and expectations they are setting.
Some offers for learning and development and a dedicated team behind it. Root problem, though, is that there is never enough time and pumping out features takes priority.
It's ok, but expectations are high for the next round of salary adjustments.
Some good awareness, but doesn't solve the root problem about all the (air) travel that this business is causing. Cannot be compensated for by hosts taking measures to make their house a bit more eco-friendly.
Still good in some teams, but people have become a lot more cautious about what they will say to whom. Not as easy-going as is used to be.
Hardly any, maybe because their contributions aren't valued as much as us youngsters with the latest hottest frameworks. Also, sometimes it seems the special situations of older colleagues are not taken into account enough (e.g. when they have a family to support).
Some people are quite good and empathetic, but others don't really behave in line with the values. Also, for technical leadership, after a certain level people should focus on strategy and not be hands-on coding anymore (and when they do, they should lead by creating high-quality architectures and code, IMHO). Also, why fire so many and only a few weeks later start hiring again? Doesn't make sense.
Offices are good and please atmosphere. Lots of goodies, nice coffee. In terms of compensation, market adequate, but inflation needs to be compensated for urgently.
Not clear what information can be trusted anymore. Massive funding round only one year ago, massive lay-offs only a few months afterwards. External communication, e.g. on LinkedIn, also needs to be more sensitive towards all the colleagues that had to go. Look at the recent posts and think about how those that got fired might feel when seeing this.
It's ok, but the higher one gets in the hierarchy, the more male it becomes.
Technically interesting and challenging, especially when it comes to cloud infrastructure topics. However, actual software engineering skills are lacking a bit.
I like that everyone is approachable and that there is a constant commitment to make Holidu a great place to work.
I would like to see more sustainabilty impact reports.
The working atmosphere at Holidu is a great balance of hard work and fun. My colleagues are fantastic and I feel respected and supported.
Fun, tech-driven and real people having a real impact.
There is a strong emphasis on a work-life balance. Efficient time management is encouraged, and management and other team members are approachable and ready to support you in challenging times.
I feel supported in my growth at Holidu. We also have an extra learning budget and study days to take advantage of throughout the year to help further our progression and knowledge.
I believe Holidu is making great strides towards sustainability. It is at the forefront and considered in business decisions which are really impressive to see. I love to be working in a company that cares about the planet we live on and the impact a business can have.
My co-workers are fun, enthusiastic and supportive. Knowledge and skill sharing are encouraged helping everyone to learn knew things and work together.
I feel heard, supported and respected by my superiors. Transparent communication and feedback are given regularly to help promote autonomy and growth in my role.
The working conditions are great. Good equipment is provided to ensure a comfortable working set-up. The office space is clean, bright and fully stocked with coffee, fruit and snacks. The atmosphere in the office is always light and positive.
Communication at the company is transparent. I feel well-informed and regular reviews are encouraging and help me to achieve my goals.
Personally, I feel I have equal rights and opportunities.
Diversifying and varying tasks are highly encouraged to help employees grow and think outside of the box.
- easy work environment
- good work - life balance
What is advertised in the interviews does not correspond to the facts.
No salary increases during the year, only with promotions. Criterias for promotions are very intransparent.
Stop fighting people for their bonuses.
Change something about the management of the company. It feels like there is not the slightest thought of the consequences. You expect more and more without giving anything back.
Its fine, they try to make everything a party, which is hard to assume in the current mood. Still, it's a nice try. People are overall very friendly and happy to help. Hybrid working is possible and very much appreciated.
Ok image but uncertain future, a great deal of trust in the company has been lost through the redundancies.
It's ok.
Hardly any further training opportunities, promotions only happen once a year and are based on performance reviews. The motto there seems to be "as long as it says something", these are in no way meaningful about the actual state of affairs. The people in charge don't spend much time on them.
Bonus structures are a joke, benefits are almost non-existent, especially now after the lay-offs.
Claims to be sustainable but is not really.
One or the other sits in positions that definitely do not correspond to the expected competences. Some managers are completely out of their depth.
Flexible working is possible. Work-Life Balance is ok.
A lot of information, little action. Criticism is not taken kindly.
There is constant restructuring, so that one is more occupied with troubleshooting due to these restructurings instead of with the actual work.
So verdient kununu Geld.
