  • If you are applying for a consulting position, you may be asked to work on a case during one of the in-person interviews. Our cases involve topics and challenges relevant to rpc and we ask candidates to complete them on-site. Don’t worry, we never do stress tests or generic brain teasers.

Auswahlverfahren

Send us your application: You can either apply for a specific opening or send us an unsolicited application through our online tool. We’ll send you a confirmation email on receiving your application.

Review phase and feedback: Our recruiters review your CV (mandatory), cover letter and other materials (optional) and consult with the relevant departments. We strive to provide prompt feedback within 14 days.

Phone interview: Next, one of our recruiters schedules a brief 20 to 30-minute call to get a feel for your current situation and future goals. We also use this time to clarify any questions you may have, as well as your earliest possible starting date and salary expectations.

First in-person interview: If the phone interview goes well, we invite you to meet us in person. This one-hour interview is usually conducted by peers from the relevant department and/or colleagues from HR. At this stage, we mainly want to see how you would fit into the team, but we’ll probably talk a little business, too.

Follow-up interview: Now is the time when you will most likely meet our management, if you have not already. This in-depth conversation (60 to 90 minutes) is about identifying your experience and strengths in order to find the perfect role for you. Be prepared to ask us any questions you may have.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

rpc sorgt dafür, dass ich mich sonntagabends auf die bevorstehende Woche und den Gang ins Büro freue. Man umgibt sich gerne mit Kollegen, die eine offene, empathische und vorallem humorvolle Art an den Tag legen, sodass diese für mich auch häufig zu wirklich engen Freunden wurden. Bei beruflichen und auch privaten Fragen und Herausforderungen steht in der Regel jeder sofort mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und leistet enorme Unterstützung. Ellbogenmentalität, Ignoranz und Egoismus sind nicht nur unerwünscht, sondern hier auch absolut fehl am Platz.

Interessante Aufgaben

Ein „Herumschlagen“ mit uninteressanten Aufgaben oder Projekten habe ich bei rpc bisher nicht erleben dürfen. Sofern einem nach einer gewissen Projektlaufzeit die fachliche, persönliche als auch methodische Weiterentwicklung fehlt – meist bevor es einem selber bewusst wird – bemüht sich der Vorgesetzte bereits für einen Einsatz, der genau jene Weiterentwicklung & Zufriedenheit fördert. Selbstverständlich werden Projekteinsätze nach Verfügbarkeit und dem „Best Fit“ des jeweiligen Mitarbeiters getroffen, nichtsdestotrotz steht auch die persönliche Weiterentwicklung im Vordergrund. Natürlich sind wir sind eine Unternehmensberatung und es kann auch vorkommen, dass man nicht mit jedem Projekteinsatz hundertprozentig glücklich ist, aber auch hierüber lässt sich immer reden und gemeinsam eine Lösung finden. Jeder hat die Chance sich seinen Aufgabenbereich durch Eigeninitiative & Involvement eigens mitzugestalten. Eine offene Feedback-Kultur und die Transparenz über fachliche Schwerpunkte eines jeden Mitarbeiters sorgen dafür, dass Aufgaben nicht nur interessant sind sondern auch zur eigenen Weiterentwicklung beitragen, die wirklich Spaß macht.

Kommunikation

Der wöchentliche Jour Fixe, in dem Updates und interessante Insights von der Geschäftsführung als auch von allen Partnern geteilt werden, ist meiner Meinung nach nicht nur ein Zeichen für eine transparente Kommunikation sondern auch für die Bereitschaft sich offenen Fragen und Anregungen zu stellen. Auch jeder Mitarbeiter hat zudem in diesem Rahmen die Möglichkeit, sich Gehör zu aktuellen Projekten, Erfolgen oder Herausforderungen zu verschaffen – und dies vor Kollegen aus unterschiedlichsten Bereichen.

Karriere / Weiterbildung

Bei rpc wird die persönliche Weiterentwicklung nicht nur durch ein wirklich vielfältiges und sich stetig erweiterndes Angebot von Trainings der internen Academy gefördert, sondern es wird auch allen Mitarbeitern die Teilnahme an individuellen, mehrtägigen Schulungen und Zertifizierungen ermöglicht, die meist auch mit einem hohen Invest verbunden sind. Individuelle Förderung ab Tag 1 anstelle Trainings nach dem „Gießkannenprinzip“ stehen hier an der Tagesordnung. Wer wirklich will, kann bei rpc viel erreichen. Ausgestattet mit neuesten Apple-Geräten, einer gelebten Desksharing-Kultur, frischem Obst, Getränken, einem Freitags-Frühstück, einem grünen Innenhof, einer großen Küche für gemeinsame Mittagessen und fantastischen Kollegen, die den „rpc-Spirit“ leben, fühlt man sich im Büro oft so wohl, dass man sich häufig bewusst gegen die Homeoffice-Möglichkeit entscheidet. #greenrpc: Neben vielen Initiativen wie Arbeitsgruppen zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit im Arbeitsalltag oder dem Einführen eines Systems zur strikteren Mülltrennung, nimmt rpc auch jährlich am „Wings for Life World Run“ teil oder erfüllt sozial benachteiligten Kindern kleine Weihnachtsgeschenke – und das nicht aus Gründen der Image-Pflege sondern aus Überzeugung, die man spürt!

Work-Life-Balance

Das wirklich gelebte Modell der „Vertrauensarbeitszeit“ ist neben der Tatsache, dass bei rpc in großem Maße darauf geachtet wird, dass auch private Anliegen Beachtung und vor allem Verständnis finden und man somit den beruflichen als auch privaten Alltag miteinander vereinen kann, ein großer USP. Anstrengendere Phasen in der alltäglichen Projektarbeit werden kompensiert durch regelmäßige Team Events wie jährliche Sommerfeste, einer Global Conference aber auch durch monatliche Mitarbeiter-Benefits wie gemeinsam organisierte Mittagessen oder Yoga-Veranstaltungen. Das von einem von Anfang an entgegengebrachte Vertrauen in die persönliche Arbeitsweise & -qualität sorgt dafür, dass ich – die häufig anderswo von einem zu gehen erwartete „extra mile“– bei rpc tatsächlich sehr gerne freiwillig gehe. Ich beobachte zunehmend, wie viele sich deshalb auch gerne in übergreifende Themen oder Projekte involvieren, auch wenn diese nicht zwingendermaßen Bestandteil der eigenen fachlichen Ausrichtung sind oder man ohnehin bereits zeitlich ausgelastet ist. Insbesondere in solchen Momenten wird einem von Vorgesetzten große Wertschätzung entgegengebracht.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Internal working atmosphere is toxic. Inhuman dog-eat-dog society where every employee is only focused on his/her own target achievements. Colleagues you can completely trust are unfortunately rare. The helpful and supportive colleagues are not valued or supported by the management. The company is strongly hierarchical. Even though the doors are always open, the mentality is not lived.
Project atmosphere depends on the specific projects and external coworkers.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Depending on the supervisor it is a huge range from supportive to disrespectful and harassing. Time and being a bootlicker let‘s you become a line manager even though you are lacking leadership skills and knowledge in the specific area. Lacking knowledge leads to absolute control and harassing of the employees to mitigate the knowledge issue.

Depends on the colleagues in the team. Huge range from super good collaboration to disruptive.

Interessante Aufgaben

Tasks depend on the project. Once you are qualified for doing a boring task good, you are stuck with this boring task for ever even though you got promised to do other projects. In that case you can be happy to get an interesting project on top of your already sufficient workload. Favorite employees get the good projects.

Kommunikation

There is a lack of internal communication. Everybody else knows first which project you will be staffed on before your line manager approaches you. Contract terminations are communicated directly via WhatsApp group. There are a lot of gossip and trash talks.

Work-Life-Balance

There is a huge range from being bored to work on the weekends and all night long. Unfortunately always the same employees are staffed more than 100% on a project. If you complain about your workload, they pay a bonus to not change anything in the bad planning and make you silent. The lucky once are constantly at home office because they are bored.

Termination of the contract and being honest about the work culture has a negative impact on your bonus payment as you are not integer towards the company.
Lack of internal role models for young employees to learn from.
Promises about promotions and salary are often broken.
Bonus payments and salary increases are sometimes communicated to other team members by the supervisor.
Try to decrease costs wherever they can and try to justify it with environmental friendliness.
Workplace is not furnished according to German labor law. You can feel happy if you find a chair on Fridays.
You are forced to be thankful spending your weekend on a global conference without getting these days reimbursed.

Error 404 – Employer comment not found due to fired HR. Just kidding, we are still here. Dear former colleague, How regrettable your experience at rpc was! Again, impressions are very subjective, so we are not going to argue against any of your opinions. We simply hope that you are much cheerier and more motivated at your new job. Apart from opinions, here are some facts in regards to your points: - As today is Friday, I had a quick stroll through the office and counted 14 free seats, excluding the kitchen and outside seating areas as well as the meeting rooms and, obviously, the option to work from home. - We empower our people to address challenges frankly and on the spot (by the way, one of our rpc people values). We in HR do not believe that handling issues on behalf of employees is the right approach. This does not mean that we are not always willing to mediate as a third party and won’t have an open ear for all sorts of small and big issues. - The German Occupational Safety and Health Act (“ArbSchG”) is part of our Code of Conduct. We have an active health management and only had another health professional from ESG (Institute for Nutrition) speak at rpc on 27th June. Further, the next emergency responder training is scheduled for October 17th, only to name two initiatives. - On our intranet you can book most trainings without anybody’s approval. For specific training (e.g. tool certifications), we have one whole resource managing the selection of training spots depending on project needs and in consultation with team and project leads. - True – rarely are strategic projects given to employees on a junior level. Consulting methodology and learning how to deal with clients on projects are fundamental and hence come first. - True – we are making an effort to decrease our environmental footprint as a company. If that saves us some money, then that’s just splendid. - A whole motivated and creative events team spends months and a little fortune to reward and motivate employees by for instance taking them to a Croatian island like this summer. We do empathize with you that this might not be for everybody and will indeed take action to make attendance more voluntary. Again, best of luck to you for your future professional path! Dear former colleague, We are sorry about your experience at rpc. Your review does not fit in amongst all the others we have received so far, which is why we would like to take a few moments to reflect on your points. A lot of your points are based on subjective impressions, so it is fair enough that your view is critical. You are right – a lot of your day-to-day business depends on the projects and colleagues and we most definitely need to get our structures and processes straight after the strong growth we have experienced over the last years. On the other hand, our impression is that you have not been with the company long enough to truly assess the leadership potential, respect/ values/ culture, performance assessments, recruiting skills and other (great) things this company has to offer. Just a few examples with reference to your Kununu-review: - Our female quota for rpc Munich is 45%, so above the industry average of mid-sized consulting firms. A number of our team leads are currently on parental leave, coming back as part-time people managers and mums/ dads. Further, we appointed our first female partner last year and several offices are led by female managers. Diversity, especially gender equality, are vital to rpc internationally. - To compose a reference letter, including yours, we ask several people (team leads, colleagues, internals). We do this to guarantee objectivity and to fulfil our legal obligations to issue a truthful and realistic review. Also in your case, we are certain to have ensured a fair assessment process. - Every single week, the whole headquarter gathers for a weekly staff meeting/ breakfast. Proactively, our management informs everyone on relevant topics including business development, figures, prospects, challenges,… This is also the perfect time to ask any questions if you have the feeling you lack transparency. Our management team lives by the open-door concept – we just need to use it! - Staffing at rpc is based on several factors. The reality in consulting is that project vacancies need to be filled (and often so on short-notice), so naturally, capacity and availability are staffing criteria as well, next to employee skill and preference. Thank you for mentioning benefits such as a company car, home office and apple products. The fact that it remains unmentioned that the company and its employees spend a lot of time (and money) to e.g. prepare free breakfasts and free lunch caterings, to organize massages, to take the whole staff on a trip to Croatia this summer (and whathaveyou) is rather unfortunate and does not do their efforts justice to create a cooperative and pleasant work environment.
