There is no pressure, also no need to work. You work when you want to, if you do not work, you are protected by the worker's council.
Depends, old people who have never worked on modern technologies are given the leadership role in projects working on technologies. However, the behaviour of the C level employees is really good. I do not interact with them directly too much, because of the language, however from the short interactions, they are very polite and well behaved.
Depends on your team, there are quite a few teams which have lunches together and have team events. Other teams have their own notion that lunches must be taken from the food trucks which come to the office, and if you do not do that then they will not join you.
No, there is no interesting task. There is no innovation. And the people in charge of driving these topics have never been in a position where they have seen people drive such topics before. This is very evident from my day to day work.
This is not an international company, it is trying to be. So everything is in German. While this part will be made clear during the interview that the working language is German, what will be omitted is that you will not have an onboarding or a proper explanation of how annual reviews work if you do not speak German. Also some people are quite hostile when they come to know that you do not speak German.
The company employs ~51% women, so gender diversity is very evident. The company also employs people from ~38 countries, so on paper there is also racial diversity, but at the grassroots. Also racial diversity is good only when you can make these people feel included, this is completely missing.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
It is quite difficult. On one hand these are people who have domain knowledge since this company spends absolutely no money and effort in onboarding new people with domain knowledge unless you put a gun on their head. However these are also people who have drifted too far away from modern technology practices. They are happy with implementing php based monolithic architectures and java 7 with JSF and glassfish servers. It is very difficult to propose change when the wrong people are put on positions which they clearly should not be in.
Karriere / Weiterbildung
I do not see any scope of developing my career here unfortunately. There are just not any interesting tasks which are put forward. One can work on the same product with absolutely no innovation and new ideas only to a certain extent and this is not possible for me.
Gehalt / Sozialleistungen
I am happy with my remuneration and benefits.
This is really good, they have flexible office hours and help for people with children. People are well behaved and answer questions politely. This cannot ofcourse include everyone, but most people do this.
Umwelt- / Sozialbewusstsein
As a media house, I feel this company has social awareness of not spreading fake news which we hear about daily. I admire this thought from the leadershop and it is evident throighout the company.
This is more of a life balance, work is what you need to find. There is very little work and that is also stuck upstairs due to extremely high beauracracy.
The image is a very personal opinion which differs. Some people have a great opinion others do not, I personally have not yet found a reason to go gaga about the image of the company, but I also do not have a hugely negative impression.
- Tring to make new international hires feel a little more included will probably go a long way for the company, I want to be part of a team, not someone who was brought over to do some tasks. It is very evident to me that international people are not welcome in this company, they are tolerated. Also your management structure is extremely bad. Managers take no interest in the problems of the employees, they rarely ask if an employee is facing issues and there is no proactiveness from the management.
The C level. I have personally interacted with a few of them, but they have always been polite and friendly.
The company is not yet international, maybe in 10 years it will be. Advertising this as an international company and giving no importance to their onboarding or the management completely ignoring them is not the best thing to do.
