Molecular Partners is a young and dynamic company. Correspondingly, there are advantages and disadvantages in working there.
The company is well-financed and growing, but that does not translate to a safe employee workplace, something which is unfortunately the case in many companies.
There might, of course, be good reasons to lay people off.
What has to be critized, especially in Molecular Partners' case, is the way they treat people they want to get rid of.
Rather than trying to resolve issues and start an open discussion with the employees in question, the bosses shock them with news of the layoff or a plan for it.
Those who are discharged immediately are comparatively lucky, to the extent that they do not nurture any false hope, and can move on; the rest are still considered useful for finalizing important and urgent tasks before they are dismissed, after several months of uncertainty.
Officially, they are given a second chance and have to sign a respective agreement.
So they try their best to keep their jobs, but since they work in fear, they don't maximize their potential.
No matter how well they perform, the bosses will find reasons to lay them off anyway.
Fortunate for the company is that it does not matter whether there is a real reason or not, because there is no requirement to indicate one according to Swiss law.
In summary I cannot recommend Molecular Partners as an employer.
