Arbeitsatmosphäre

A nice office with modern technologies is the cover up for a climate of fear among the employees. The impression is that employees and management are not working together but against each other.
It is not advisable to seek guidance when assigned a new task.
It is not unfrequent that colleagues are publicly shamed.
The company "does not apologize" (to clients) when mistakes are done.
Outgoing emails to clients are being monitored and READ by management.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Top-down management. Decisions are taken and seldom justified. 4 hours later decisions are changed. The following day again. This results in a high level of uncertainty on what to do

Kollegenzusammenhalt

There are several opportunities for colleagues to interact with each other and post work events. On a typical work week, your colleagues will not have time for you. Everyone is stressed and competitiveness is encouraged

Interessante Aufgaben

Assignments would be very interesting if it was clear what results the management expects from them. It seems that the three managers don't really align on what is needed; as a consequence a task needs to be reworked on, three to four times until it is satisfactory. This creates the constant feeling that the work done is not correct and that criticism will come no matter how hard you work.

Kommunikation

Communication si compartmentalized per team with a high degree of secrecy. This makes some colleague think that they are more important than others and increases the lack of transparency.
Impossible to receive an onboarding other than: "this is our shared hard drive - now read and understand through hundreds of documents"

Gleichberechtigung

The company employs people from all over the world. In at least two occasions people on an expired visa and awaiting a contract renewal in order to extend the visa where left hanging for several months.

Average age of employees is ca. 28 years old

Karriere / Weiterbildung

Here again there is a lot of secrecy as to who gets promoted, when and under what contractual conditions. What I experienced is of at least two employees performing the responsibilities of a higher level job position, without receiving the appropriate job title over more than 12 months

Gehalt / Sozialleistungen

Average salaries are paid, paychecks are processed on time, generous bonuses are awarded yearly if targets are achieved

Arbeitsbedingungen

The office is bright; workplaces are comfortable; kitchen and toilets are taken care of; fresh fruit is provided 3 times a week.

Work-Life-Balance

It is occasionally possible to work from home and employees can choose to start between 8-10am. Here the company shows a high degree of flexibility

The company name does not generate a considerable brand awareness, possibly the clients have a different perception.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

  • Find time for your employees, at least weekly if not daily. All employees are meant, not just the account managers. Provide clear goals and ensure these are understood. Offer guidance, this will save you a lot of time on micromanagement. Apply situational leadership when assigning new tasks or when new members are onboarded. Promote a feedback culture within the company. Your people are your most important assets and they should not be afraid of providing feedback or asking questions.

- Excessive micromanagement rather than proper guidance and trust
